Our Psychotherapists

James du Cann

BA, MA, PgCert (Oxon), FPC, BPC, UKCP, BABCP

James du Cann is a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.  This flexibility allows James to use either approach or a combination of both to match the needs of his patients.  For example, this can be helpful to someone who has had a course of CBT, but who would now like to explore themselves in greater depth.  James sees his patients once or twice weekly for open ended therapy and weekly for short term psychotherapy and CBT. In addition, James frequently acts as a psychotherapist to therapy trainees. He is a member of The British Psychoanalytic Council, The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling, The UK Council for Psychotherapy and The British Association For Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

Before training as a psychotherapist, James studied modern languages and worked in media production.  Since co-founding Southbank Counselling in 2014, James has acted as a Guest Lecturer to fourth year students at WPF Therapy, is a mentor to students at the British Psychotherapy Foundation and served as a Member and Chairman of the British Psychoanalytic Council’s Hearing Panel.

Judith

Judith Barac

BA, PGDIP, PGCERT, FPC, BPC

Judith is a psychodynamic psychotherapist and offers both time limited therapy which focuses on a particular issue, or open-ended in-depth therapy.  With both ways of working, Judith uses the relationship with the therapist and what it evokes to help the client nurture a new understanding of themselves.

Judith trained at WPF Therapy and returned there to work as a clinical supervisor and tutor.  She has PGCert in supervision from the Society of Analytical Psychology and offers supervision to qualified clinicians and therapists in training.  Judith’s considerable clinical experience in the NHS and private sector includes working as a specialist midwife in the Perinatal Mental Health Team for women and she also founded the first NHS clinic for women with a fear of childbirth.

Before training as a midwife and then psychotherapist, Judith studied History of Art and she continues to make use of the creative power of art in all its forms as a way of helping the psychotherapeutic relationship symbolically.

Richard Jenkins

LLB, BA (Oxon), MA, PgDip, FPC, BPC, AJA, IAAP

Richard Jenkins is a Jungian Analyst and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist.

Richard works with you to understand the patterns from the past that can cause pain or blockage today. As well as attending to the suffering and dilemmas that we bring to therapy, Richard works at depth with dreams, the symbolic and mythological aspects of psychological life, understanding that alongside the relationship with the therapist, these hold deep power to heal. As well as an interest in spirituality and spiritual practice, he has a long-standing expertise in policy and social action as a researcher and adviser for government.

Richard has over a decade’s experience of working as a therapist and has NHS experience as an Honorary Psychotherapist at the Royal London Hospital.

Richard teaches a course on Jung at the Bowlby Centre for Attachment Based Psychoanalysis. As a faculty member of WPF Therapy  he taught courses on contemporary approaches to Diversity, Clinical Practice and Jung. Richard is a member of the Association of Jungian Analysts.
